Bishop Auckland’s New Mayor Announced Councillor David Fleming was chosen as the twelfth Mayor of Bishop Auckland at the Town Council Annual Meeting held on 9th May 2018.
This is David’s second term in office as Mayor, his previous term being in 2013-2014. David has been a Town Councillor since 2010 and is a keen golfer and rugby enthusiast who loves to travel with his wife Monica.
In accepting his role as Mayor Councillor Fleming said:
“It is a tremendous honour to be chosen as Mayor of Bishop Auckland for the second time and I am looking forward to working hard to support the local community at such an exciting time for the Town.”
His chosen charity for his term as Mayor will be announced shortly.
Councillor Joy Allen was elected Deputy Mayor.
