
The Town Council has awarded Bishop Auckland Sports Bar FC £100 from its Community Fund to go towards the purchase new football kits for the club.
Bishop Auckland Sports Bar FC are a Sunday league football team and have close working links with King James I Academy, with training sessions taking place on their state of the art 4G football pitch.
The grant has been awarded to go towards the purchase of new football shirts and this will provide club members the platform needed, to go and showcase their individual and team abilities.
The Mayor, Councillor Dave Fleming, presented the cheque to Nathan Peart Monday 11th June 2018. Dave said: “It is a privilege to award this grant to the club and I’m sure their new football kit will get them noticed both on and off the field.”
The Town Council has allocated up to £5,000 to support local organisations working for the benefit of the residents of Bishop Auckland. Community groups and local charities are invited to apply for grants of up to £500.
