Bishop Auckland Town Council in partnership with the Royal British Legion and 8th Battallion the Rifles, is organising a Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade on Sunday 11th November.
The actual Parade which is being organised by the 8th Batallion the Rifles will assemble outside the Newgate Centre from 10.30am before marching to the War Memorial in the Market Place for the Act of Remembrance at 11am.
A spokesperson for the Royal British Legion said:
“This is only the second year a parade will march into the market place from Newgate Street and it will again be led by pipes and drums. We would welcome any veterans who would like to march in behind the parade to meet at the Newgate Centre for 10.30am.”
Wreaths will be laid by members of various organisations, after which a Service of Remembrance will be held in St. Anne’s Church, in the Market Place at around 11:15am.
