Young people in Bishop Auckland created some amazing artwork and poems in remembrance of the centenary of the end of WW1 for the children’s section of the Horticultural and Produce Show held in September this year.
If you missed the show, some of the artwork can be viewed in the Newgate Centre (in the old Shoezone window), and has also made a colourful display in the Town Council Notice Board which is situated just outside of the Newgate Centre.
The Mayor, Councillor Fleming said:
“We were delighted by the amount of entries we had at the show in September, the creativity and thought behind each piece shows how much the young people of Bishop Auckland have learned in their schools and groups, and that they honour and acknowledge the sacrifice made by so many in WW1.”
