Mayor presents Community Fund to Heartbeat Support Group
The Mayor, Councillor David Fleming presented a cheque for £210 to members of the Bishop Auckland Healthy Heartbeat Support Group on Tuesday 19th March 2019. This grant was awarded from Bishop Auckland Town Council’s Community Fund to assist with transport, for a group visit to Darlington Hippodrome Theatre.
The group currently has over twenty members that meet every Tuesday at Henknowle Community Centre, Bishop Auckland. This is the only group in the area that provides after care and support to heart failure patients.

The Town Council has allocated up to £5,000 to support local organisations working for the benefit of the residents of Bishop Auckland. Community groups and local charities are invited to apply for grants of up to £500.
