King James Student receives Special Award from Youth Awards Presentation Evening
The Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Councillor Joy Allen visited King James I Academy to present a Special Award to Sixth Form Student, Abbi Stephenson on Wednesday 8th May.
The Award for Academic Achievement, was awarded to Abbi at the Youth Awards Presentation Evening held on Wednesday 1st May, to recognise her excellence in her GCSE and A-Level studies and for the success she has achieved as part of the ‘Social Mobility Programme 2020. This national initiative invites applications from gifted and talented young people and recognises the potential of a select few by offering them the opportunity to take part in higher-level work experience.
Councillor Allen also presented, Youth Awards Nominations to Year 7 Students, Lilly Tinkler and Jay Mason, for the excellent work they do in school through energy conservation initiatives and recycling projects such as the Big Battery Hunt.
