Councillor Joy Allen held her first fund raising event as Mayor of Bishop Auckland on Saturday 31st August 2019 at Bishop Auckland Town Hall.
Councillor Allen welcomed Mayor’s from across the County, together with local groups, clubs and friends and family.
Generous guests raised £200 for the Mayor’s chosen charity for the year, the Angel Trust.
The Angel Trust was formed as a local charity for the local people of Darlington and County Durham and supports individuals and organisations in the local community, by providing financial support and services to those in need.
The Trust aims to improve the local community and make life better for those living within it, by supporting local projects that enhance, improve and promote good citizenship of the community, the promotion of healthy recreational activities and relief from financial hardship.
Councillor Allen said: “I was delighted that so many guests were able to join me to raise the profile of the fantastic work carried out by The Angel Trust and raise £200.”
The Mayor’s next function will be the Halloween Quiz and Curry Night to be held at the end of October.
Further detail of this event will be announced shortly.
