The Council is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced manager to succeed its current Town Clerk who is leaving at the end of March.
This is an exciting time for Bishop Auckland. The town is benefiting from a private sector led multi-million-pound regeneration programme which will see the opening of a number of major new attractions that will have a positive affect on the town centre and wider locality. It is also an exciting time of growth for the Town Council which was established in 2007. We are due to move into new premises which will provide sufficient accommodation and presence in the town to help the Council move forward and achieve its aspirations.
We are looking for a proactive, dynamic individual who is an excellent manager, leader, innovator and ambassador to partner our elected members in delivering their vision. The successful candidate will be required to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, partner organisations and community groups. They will also need considerable administration and organisational skills.
The post is full-time (37 hours per week) and qualifies for membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
If you feel that you meet these requirements, we would like to hear from you. The post of town clerk is challenging and duties will require attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekends.

The closing date for applications is Friday 13th March 2020.
