In Bishop Auckland, the impact of Covid-19 continues to affect individuals and organisations across the town, the community and local Town Councillors are responding and providing support and reassurance to those who need it the most.
Here is just some of the great work been carried out by your local Councillors, and we will continue to share more stories and information in the coming days and weeks:
During the early stages of the restrictions Councillors Sam, Lesley and Adam Zair provided meals from Zair’s Café on Fore Bondgate. As the government introduced further restrictions, they moved to providing meals to the more vulnerable people in the community, helping their regular customers that would no longer be able to leave their homes as freely. They are also renting their holiday let to an NHS worker who is no longer able to live at home and are generously waiving any rent to show their own support for the NHS.
