Acknowledgement for Local Heritage

Beryl Anderson, Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant Sue Snowdon and Cllr Sam Zair
It was lovely to see acknowledgement for another piece of fabulous heritage, here in Bishop Auckland. Today, Thursday 28th May 2021, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant Sue Snowdon, in the presence of a small number of invited guests including the Mayor of Bishop Auckland, unveiled a Blue Heritage plaque at Sam Zair’s Cafe on Fore Bondgate.

Paganini’s most iconic and recognisable piece is the fast and furious Caprice 24 – when heard you immediately associate it with the Melvin Braggs South Bank Show. The piece was digitised and remixed by Lord Andrew LLoyd Webber and his brother Julian and remained the theme tune for over 10 years.
