Bishop Auckland Town Council are thrilled to announce that they wish to support community based celebrations across the town for the Coronation of King Charles III, as he has made communities and volunteers central to his celebrations.
The national focus of the Coronation Celebrations are ‘The Big Lunch’ on Sunday 6th May and ‘The Big Help Out’ on Monday 7th May, to highlight the positive impact of volunteering. Therefore the Town Council are looking to provide donations local community groups to help with their events, up to £1,000 per ward is available.
Councillor Lesley Zair, Chair of BATC Events Committee Said: “Rather than host one central event the Council wish to support local groups with their coronation celebrations, as community is at the heart of the Kings celebrations and it also at the heart of Bishop Auckland. We have some fabulous organisations across our town who will be coming together in celebration, and we want to help to facilitate this.”
To apply, groups are asked to submit and expression of interest application form where they will provide a brief outline of their planned celebrations.
A PDF version of the Application Form is available to download below, alternatively please Contact Us to request a paper copy.
