Town Councillors agreed that the development is acceptable in planning terms. The Council considers that the proposal is in accordance with the County Durham Plan, including the strategic aims to promote sustainable development, protect residential amenity, and ensure appropriate design quality across the County.
Furthermore, the Town Council is satisfied that the application aligns with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), particularly the principles of sustainable development, good design, and the effective use of land. No conflict with national or local policy has been identified.
On this basis, the Council raises no objections and is supportive of the application.
