Bishop Auckland Town Council welcomes the opportunity to comment on Durham County Council’s consultation on shaping the future of adult social care.
The Council supports a person‑centred approach that enables people to live independently, safely and with dignity within their communities for as long as possible.
The Town Council recognises the vital importance of prevention, early intervention and strong local networks in supporting wellbeing and reducing future demand on adult social care services.
The Council also recognises the essential role played by unpaid carers, voluntary and community organisations, and town and parish councils in supporting residents, and welcomes proposals to strengthen partnership working across sectors.
Bishop Auckland Town Council supports a continued focus on listening to lived experience and ensuring that services are accessible, inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of communities across County Durham.
