Bishop Auckland Town Council is honoured to once again host the Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade in collaboration with St Anne’s Church on Sunday, 9th November 2025.
Those wishing to participate in the Act of Remembrance are invited to gather in the warmth of St Anne’s Church, Bishop Auckland Market Place, from 10.30am. Participants will then be assembled and proceed outside in the formal designated order in front of the War Memorial, in time for the parade and proceedings to commence at 10.50am.
Wreath layers will be invited to approach the cenotaph in small groups while the Lament is played. Instructions will be given on the day regarding where to move once your wreath has been placed.
Following the laying of wreaths, a Service of Remembrance will take place inside St Anne’s Church, to which all are warmly invited.
Please note that parking in the Market Place is very limited, and a road closure will be in place from 10.00am to 11.30am. The nearest car parks are located at North Bondgate (DL14 7PG) and Kingsway; some may incur a charge.
