The Annual Town Council Meeting is the first meeting of the Council year of which the first piece of business is the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor; committees and their membership and Chairperson are agreed, and council constitution, and policies are agreed and approved, for the year ahead. In effect the Council is ‘stood down’ and reconstructed.
