Bishop Auckland Town Council met on Tuesday 21 May 2024 for their Annual Meeting, at which they appointed the Mayor for the municipal year 2024-25. Cllr Mike Harker has been appointed as the 17th Mayor of Bishop Auckland.
Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Councillor Mike Harker said:
Sam Zair did a sterling job throughout his term of office and for quite some time now he has been a fine ambassador for both the Town and Council. A feature of his work, in conjunction with the Town Clerk and Administration Team developed a very competent and capable operation using his expertise and knowledge whilst still finding the time to support two charities.
I certainly hope to continue to build on these solid foundations and develop strong working relationships with local partners and organisations that can deliver real benefits to our community.
