Bishop Auckland Town Council met on Tuesday 21 May 2024 for their Annual Meeting, at which they appointed the Mayor for the municipal year 2024-25. Cllr Mike Harker has been appointed as the 17th Mayor of Bishop Auckland.
Cllr Harker said: “Sam Zair did a sterling job throughout his term of office and for quite some time now he has been a fine ambassador for both the Town and Council. A feature of his work, in conjunction with the Town Clerk and Administration Team developed a very competent and capable operation using his expertise and knowledge – whilst still finding the time to support two charities.
I certainly hope to continue to build on these solid foundations and develop strong working relationships with local partners and organisations that can deliver real benefits to our community.”
The deputy Mayor has not yet been appointed.
