Mike Harker
Sam Zair did a sterling job throughout his term of office and for quite some time now he has been a fine ambassador for both the Town and Council. A feature of his work, in conjunction with the Town Clerk and Administration Team developed a very competent and capable operation using his expertise and knowledge whilst still finding the time to support two charities.
I certainly hope to continue to build on these solid foundations and develop strong working relationships with local partners and organisations that can deliver real benefits to our community.

The Mayor is keen to support organisations that contribute to the wellbeing of Bishop Auckland. He is always pleased to hear from community and charity groups, carer organisations, schools, youth groups etc. and also about individuals who have particular achievements to celebrate, 100th birthdays, special wedding anniversaries and the like.
If the Mayor is unable to attend your event the Deputy Mayor will endeavour to attend.
