The Town Council has awarded Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Junior FC £500 from its Community Fund to provide new goalposts for the club.

Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Junior FC has a range of under 7’s Junior Teams, including the Under 4’s Little Dribblers, Under 5’s Little Stars and the Under 6’s Development Squad.  The club is a great environment for young people to hone their football skills and learn the values of being a team player.

The community grant will ensure that the Junior teams will have reliable equipment use during their training sessions and provide a safe environment to compete with other local clubs.

The Mayor, Dave Fleming presented the cheque to the club on the 25th September 2018. Dave said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our younger residents of Bishop Auckland to get involved with the club and nurture their superstar within.”

The Town Council has allocated up to £5,000 to support local organisations working for the benefit of the residents of Bishop Auckland.  Community groups and local charities are invited to apply for grants of up to £500.
