Over recent months, the reliability and punctuality of Arriva Service, Number 56 has been in decline. This is a result of increasing levels of traffic congestion within the area.
Arriva as the operator of this service, have an obligation to ensure that they provide a service that is as reliable and punctual as possible.
The operator has been analysing passenger data along with punctuality and reliability data with a view of understanding what needs to be done to improve the service.
To address the issues faced on the route, they believe that the best way to solve this and release sufficient time to be reinvested elsewhere on the route is to revise the way in which service 56 will operate around Bishop Auckland, there will be no change to the service frequency, buses still running hourly during Monday-Sunday daytimes to Bishop Auckland and Ferryhill on an evening, the routes in which they may operate is subject to change. However they have two proposed options to revise the route which the following pages have further information about.
This survey will briefly explain the plans and allow you to feedback some comments at the end.
It shouldn’t take any more than a few minutes to complete.
Subject to the results received, Arriva expect the proposed start date would be Sunday 30th March 2025.
If you wish to take part in the survey, this can be done using Arriva’s Microsoft Form.
