Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain – 43rd British Treffen Success

27 August 2025

Bishop Auckland Town Council were delighted to welcome the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain to the town for their annual gathering this past weekend. The event proved to be a tremendous success, attracting large numbers of residents and visitors to enjoy the spectacle.

The weekend commenced on Friday evening, when crowds filled the Market Place to view the impressive display of Honda Goldwing motorcycles. The Light Parade, featuring a procession of illuminated bikes through the town, drew spectators creating a truly memorable atmosphere. Both the Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Councillor Sam Zair, and the Town Clerk, Sarah Harris, were invited to join parade as passengers on trikes and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

On Saturday, the celebrations continued with the Parade of the Nations, which saw the riders once again take to the streets to the enthusiastic support of the public. The scale of turnout over both days highlighted the strong community spirit of Bishop Auckland and the appeal of hosting such events in the town.

During Saturday’s proceedings, the Mayor was also presented with a donation of £750 from the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain’s fundraising activities access the weekend, to give to his chosen charity, Bishop Auckland Butterwick Hospice. The Mayor expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, which will contribute towards the valuable work carried out by the Hospice in the local area.

Speaking after the event, the Mayor said:
The Town Council is extremely proud to have supported the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain this weekend. The Light Parade and Parade of the Nations were both spectacular occasions, and it was heart-warming to see so many residents and visitors enjoying themselves. We are most grateful for the generous donation made to my chosen charity, Bishop Auckland Butterwick Hospice, and we look forward to Goldwing Owners Club returning to Bishop Auckland sometime in the future.”

Bishop Auckland Town Council would like to extend its thanks to the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain for choosing Bishop Auckland as the host town for their gathering, and to everyone who contributed to an unforgettable weekend.
