Mayor presents Community Fund grant to Henknowle Community Association

The Mayor, Councillor David Fleming presented a cheque for £500 to Henknowle Community Association on Tuesday 16th October 2018.

This grant was awarded from Bishop Auckland Town Council’s Community Fund to help fund the purchase of a new TV and DVD to support various activities held in the Centre.  The Grant also helped to redecorate the lounge area.

Mayor, David Fleming said:

“Henknowle Community Association provides a valuable service for the residents of Bishop Auckland and the new equipment will be ideal for the Centre’s weekly workshops and fitness classes.”

The Town Council has allocated up to £5,000 to support local organisations working for the benefit of the residents of Bishop Auckland.  Community groups and local charities are invited to apply for grants of up to £500.
