The Mayor of Bishop Auckland, Councillor David Fleming hosted a Christmas Quiz at Heritage Park, home of Bishop Auckland Football Club on Thursday 6th December.
Guests got their thinking Christmas caps on with eight different Christmas and local themed rounds provided by Quiz Master Councillor Lee Brownson.
A raffle and tombola helped to add to the impressive amount where all proceeds went to the Mayor’s chosen charity, in aid of Woodhouse Community Foodbank.
Councillor Fleming said:
“It was a really good festive quiz, everyone enjoyed themselves and in the process raised much need funds for the food bank.â€
“I would like to thank the Football Club for providing the venue, Lee Brownson for doing the quiz and I would like to say an extra special thank you to all of the hard working volunteers at the foodbank who have had an extremely busy time this year due to all of the fantastic food donations received, they are ensuring that the food is flowing to those who are in desperate need at Christmas time, which as we all know can be such an expensive time.â€
