for the Parish/Town/Wards listed below.

Parish Wards and Number of Town Councillors to be elected:

  • Bishop Auckland (Bishop Auckland Town)  –  Two Town Councillors
  • Bishop Auckland (Cockton Hill)  –  Three Town Councillors
  • Bishop Auckland (Henknowle)  –  Three Town Councillors
  • Bishop Auckland (Woodhouse Close)  – Three Town Councillors

1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, the Durham Room, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL on any day after the date of this notice, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays), but no later than 4pm on Wednesday, 2nd April 2025.

2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, The Annexe, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL, during the times stated above.

3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 1st May 2025.

4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Friday, 11th April 2025.  Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Annexe, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL by 5pm on Monday, 14th April 2025.

6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025.  Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/apply-for-photoid-voter-authority-certificate

7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Annexe, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL by 5pm on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025.

8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Annexe, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL by 5pm on Thursday, 1st May 2025.
